Reoccurring issue: Connecting Remote

Hi all, I am having a reoccurring issue trying to remote connect. I have the PC's I wish to connect to ID & password, yet when I try connect it spools on 'Authenticating' and then finally, fails.

Also, when I try to 'Assign to Account' Password prompt dialogue box appears with a warning saying 'Account assignment failed due to unknown error'

Yet, if I try to connect from the other PC to my laptop, there is no issue, it connects straight away without issue.

I am running Windows 10, I have the most up to date version of Teamviewer and I have tried restarting both programs and laptop/ PC repeatedly.

I have been able to connect to eth PC before, but now, there is this reoccurring issue.

Any assistance to resolve would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Carol,

I'm afraid that hasn't work either.

I followed the steps and reinstalled as Admin. To no avail.

Are there any other possible solutions?

Just a question, did you follow the basic uninstall or the advanced uninstall steps?

A connection issue like this could be caused by multiple factors; therefore, I don't have a precise answer to give you, but there are a few things we can double-check together.

Firewall - If you have a firewall set up, please make sure to check if you have the correct ports opened as instructed in the article: 📄 Ports used by TeamViewer
Antivirus - You may consider checking if your antivirus is blocking TeamViewer connections. If it is, you may need to add TeamViewer on the allowlist of your antivirus.
Bank apps - Some bank apps can block third-party apps like TeamViewer. You may consider temporarily uninstalling it in order to use TeamViewer.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble remote connecting.

Have you tried already to uninstall/install TeamViewer?

If not, I would advise doing it following the steps in this article.
To reinstall it, you can download it here.
- Please make sure you install it using the admin user, so the software can run as administrator.
