Temporarily save network password.

Hello there,

I have the option to temporarily save network password turned on but if the session disconnects I have to type the password again.

Any ideas? :)

Best regards.

André

    Hi @AndreHBuss,

I'm grateful to hear the link worked this time!

Regarding the issue, I would like to confirm with you the following:

    • Are you trying to reconnect in less than 5 minutes, or after 5 minutes of remote connection?

The option to temporally save passwords will automatically clear the cached password after 5 minutes, so a new password will be required.

If you're reconnecting prior to the 5 minutes, could you try to uncheck the option (click OK to save); then reopen the Advanced options to reactive it?

Let me know how it goes, I'm looking forward to your feedback!

  • Yes if I disconnect and reconnect the password is not cached, less of 5 minutes.

    Hi @AndreHBuss,

    Thanks for the confirmation!

I did a few tests on my side, and I suspect it could be a setting in your partner/remote device.

Could you please follow the steps below to verify this setting?

    1. Open the TeamViewer on the remote side
    2. On the top right, click the gear icon to open the TeamViewer options
    3. Click AdvancedShow advanced options
    4. On the section Advanced settings for connections to this computer, please check if Random password after each session is set to Keep current
      • If not, please select Keep current and click OK to save.

Let me know how it goes, and if this fixes the issue. 🍀

  • Hello there :)

The remote site uses Teamviewer QS I connect on many PCs, they download the QS right from the Teamviewer site.

There is no way to set this on my side?

    Hi @AndreHBuss,

    Thanks for the additional information!

The QuickSupport is just one executable; therefore, if the QuickSuport service is closed and reopened a new password will be generated - unless you have a license, and you're using a customized QuickSupport set to have a predefined password.

However, if the custom QuickSupport is not an option for you, It would be interesting to investigate what could be causing the partner's QS to be closing. The first step would be to check if there's compatibility between the QS and the OS on the remote side.

I'm looking forward to your reply!

  • Another info, I have to re-type the password again even though a disconnection from my side.
