sketchy & unreliable TeamViewer on an Ubuntu 22.04 remote machine

I've been running TeamViewer on an Ubuntu 22.04 machine with all the latest patches applied.

I'm running TeamViewer 15.40.8 on the Linux box and 15.40.6 on my Mac.


Overall, when TeamViewer works, it's great. But then I REGULARLY get messages that the TeamViewer client is not responding (this does not seem to affect remote access, just the app freezes and won't minimize. I can keep using the machine)


Other times I get a black screen with text, but no remote control.

Other times the client is still running but either won't respond to my attempt to start a session, or authenticates but never shows me the remote screen.

Sometimes restarting teamviewerd fixes it, sometimes I have to reboot and then also occasionally restart teamviewerd


This has potential to be great, but it also is like a rickety bridge with bad planks to walk on.

Ideas about how I can get to more stability? Data I can provide to engineering that might help them understand exactly what is wrong?
