Sister (84) in 🇦🇺 asking little brother (74) in 🇫🇷 to help her set up new iPad.

I have TV installed on a 2013 MBPro and it has worked fine with other family members in 🇦🇺. After some searching using FaceTime on her old iPad for me to see her laptop sçreen, we find we need to DL and install TV her end - OK, done.

i initiate remote access my end, but her ID is in the following format;

m-NNN-NNN-NN

My TV wants NNN NNN NNN

No hyphens or leading “m” thankyou.

After much head scratching, we abandoned our efforts.

The ID format m-NNN-NNN-NN is the format of our meeting solution. So there might be the wrong app installed on the iPad.

To remote control her device, you must install TeamViewer QuickSupport on her iPad.

This is the app you want to install on her iPad so you can connect to her and see her iPad's screen.

You'll have to connect via ID and password. If you are already using the new interface, please follow these steps when connecting:

My bad!

i wasn’t clear. I want remote control of her Mac Book, not her iPad.

Does she still need Team Viewer Quick Support application in such a case?

Or a different one?

My MBPro controlling her MBPro.

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, she needs to run QuickSupport on her Macbook.

Then, she will see the ID and the password.

Then, you can connect to her by following the video I shared above.
