Can't remote control my sister's Moto G Play after software update

Hi All-
I live far from my older sister and have used TeamViewer for the last 2 years to help her with her phone and tablet. It has been a real life-saver up until this week. When I tried to connect to her phone this week, the Quick Support app on her end needed to download a universal add-on. She downloaded it and turned it on, but when I connect to the phone, I can only screen-share, with the "blue hand" cursor (no remote control). I duplicated the installation on my wife's phone (a Pixel 4a) here today and it worked great with the universal add-on.
Can anyone give me tips/assistance so I can resume rescuing my poor sister from her tech nightmares?
