version compatibility

I have version Version: 15.47.3 (d11df019d35) running on Mac OSX 12.7.1
The user I am trying to reach has version 15.2.2756 running on Mac OSX 10.13.6
checking the version it says it is up to date.
However the interface on her end is total different. When I try to open a session by sending an invitation, nothing happens.
is this the cause of the problem?
