Teamviewer stuck on "Initializing display paramters" after recent update

After new years i am not able to connect to several computers that run headless. This have worked for over 3 years without any issues.

Now, after an update this is no longer the case and i am unable to view those machines.

What is weird is that it works if i connect using a mobile device.

Currently running version 15.49.2

    Hi @Ole_Morken,

Happy to see you in our Community again!

Since the connection with the headless computers worked from the mobile, but not from the computers recently updated, we will suggest as a first step to uninstall TeamViewer and do a new installation from our side, which you can download from here, where you can get the latest version available, because there is a newer release.

We advise this procedure because there are occasions when registry keys from old versions remain installed and a complete cleanup is required.

Please try this first recommendation and keep us posted of the results, we will gladly continue to assist you if necessary.

    Have a nice day.

  • Hi,

I followed your instructions and uninstalled teamviewer and reinstalled it with newest available version(15.49.3).

I am still stuck on "Initializing display parameters" with Old interface and "Starting remote session" with new interface.

I am still able to connect using a mobile device.

    Hi @0le_M0rken,

    Thank you for your reply.

We have taken a closer look at your case and the lack of connectivity with a headless Pc is related to an issue regarding virtual/headless monitors.

At this moment our developers are taking care of it.

We suggest keeping 📃TeamViewer updated so that as soon as the fix is deployed your TeamViewer connection with the remote devices will work properly again.

We are so sorry for the inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience.

    Have a nice day!
