For the last week, it takes ages to connect and then it times out and I have to start again. Have the latest version and rebooted my computer.

We are glad to have you for the first time visiting us.
Since the connection takes so long that it even drops down, we will suggest uninstalling TeamViewer and do a new installation from our side, which you can download from here, where you can get the latest version available, because there is a newer release.
We advise this procedure because there are occasions when registry keys from old versions remain installed and a complete cleanup is required.
Please try this first recommendation and keep us posted of the results, we will gladly continue to assist you if necessary.
