The problem started to occur this morning (2024-01-12)
I have a number of devices running TeamViewer 12.0.78433 (DEB) (older version I know, see note below) on linux (Raspberry Pi).
When I try to log in remotely, I get the normal password prompt Please enter the password that is displayed on your partner's computer
. When I try to enter the password, which is know is correct, I get a message The password you have entered is invalid, please try again
So I tried to reset the password on the linux device, as I have done a number of times in the pass, with:
sudo teamviewer passwd <password>
But still, the same message is displayed when I try to log in. If I look at the log (TeamViewer12_Logfile.log), the relevant part is:
2024/01/12 10:04:48.480 834 1972368464 S Negotiating session encryption: client handshake received

.....
If I look at what happened earlier when it was working correctly:

....
As a test, I have tried to connect to a different device under my control on which TeamViewer server version 15 is running, and it worked correctly (same password, set the same way), so I suspect this is a new problem which may be related to the fact that the TV server I'm trying to connect to is an older version.
The problem is that these devices are in use by our customers and the TeamViewer server software on them cannot be updated, so I need to find a solution other than updating TV on all these devices, which is not feasible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
