Hello

I Just installed TeamViewer on my Synology NAS and assigned it to my account.

When I try to connect, I'm asked to enter the "Remote device's password"

The dialog box comment is : "Please enter the password that is displayed on your partner's computer."

Since the "partner computer" is a NAS device, where is that password supposed to be displayed?

    Thanks,

I've decided to restart from scratch.

I'm now locked at this step of the tutorial :

"Add the ID to your Computers & Contacts list in Teamviewer Application by selecting Add item --> Add remote computer"

There's is no "add item" in the TeamViewer Desktop Application

  • I've switched to old desktop client interface

When I select "assign to account" the device I'm getting this error (and I'm using the password provided by the TeamViewer client on the NAS)

I've unlinked the NAS from my Teamviewer account

Then added it again using the web interface. It shows up (with green dot) in the "bookmarked devices" tab.

When I select it there is that message

This device is bookmarked and has reduced functionality. To manage and set up remote access on this device, follow the instructions here, depending on the module you’ve installed on your remote device.

The "here" word is not clickable and there is nothing under that text !

    Where are the instructions?

    Hi @CoolRaoul ,

Thank you for your detailed answer, it helps a lot to understand the case.

Decide to restart from scratch a TeamViewer installation in a Sinology Nas device is the right way to go.

We took your case to a colleague at a more advanced level, and we suggest you the following link:

📃Assign a TeamViewer Embedded agent to your account.

Please proceed with the assigning and keep us posted, we are glad to extend our help.

    Looking forward hearing from you

    I've followed your link :

Unfortunately, I don't have the option "Remove assignment" .

Here's what I see on the NAS GUI :

I think I will give up. There are many simpler other methods to remotely connect to my NAS.

  • After having removed the NAS using the Teamviewer PC client then added it back again I've managed to make iunderstand.

I really don't understand why it has not worked previously since I'm pretty sure having made *exaclly * the same steps.
