No LAN connections if no Internet

Can I ask a really dumb question? If I do not have an Internet connection, the option to "Control Remote Computer" is immediately greyed out – even though that computer is on the LAN!?

    Hi @mel1975,

    Welcome to the TeamViewer Community!

TeamViewer accepts LAN connections, and a prerequisite setting must be adjusted before the remote connection. You may find more information in the knowledge-based article - Use TeamViewer Remote in LAN . Hope it helps and happy connections!

Sorry, that's not the question. I am able to control another computer over the LAN as long as I have Internet connection. If I disconnect from the Internet, all options to connect are greyed out.

In fact, TeamViewer 15.53.6 won't even launch without an Internet connection: "Looks like you’re offline. Please check your connection."
