Unattended Access between several devices

Hi, I have a several devices, often moving between them, and need to access from each device to all others. Previously, I have installed Team Viewer with Unattended Access on all devices and it worked perfectly. With new version, one of my devices unexpectedly changed it's TeamViewer ID and not more in the list of devices any more. I can not access it and don't understand how should I add him to list of devices with unattended access again. As I understand, a Team Viewer Host application is needed now to provide unattended access to the device. But it can not be installed at the same device with Team Viewer Full Client. So if I install Team Viewer Host on this device, I can not access other devices from those device. Please help, how can this situation be solved? Thanks in advance

    Hi @horolskyi,
Thanks for reaching out to our Community!

The new TeamViewer Remote works the same as TeamViewer (Classic) regarding unattended access. As you said, TeamViewer Host is advised only for endpoints (devices that only receive the session). For devices that will receive and start remote sessions with other devices, the Full Client is required (regardless of using the new or old interface).

To set up unattended access using the new TeamViewer Remote interface, go to the Home tab, click Set up remote access, and follow the steps on the screen.

📌We advise doing the account assignment to a master account, and then sharing the managed group with other users who need to have unattended access to that group of devices.

I hope this information can help you!
Let us know how it goes, and if we can help you any further.

    Hi Carol,

thank you so much for your answer. There is one issue - please see what I have in the Home page. No "Set up remote access" here

It looks like it is saying that Remote Access was already set. But may be the problem is that it WAS set, but then Team Viewer ID for this device was changed (i don't know why). Now I see old device in the list of devices disabled (with an old ID), but don't know how to add this device again with its new ID.

    Hi @horolskyi,
    Thanks for the additional detail!

All devices already being managed should show up in your Devices list➜All managed devices. (You can also manually add a bookmarked device by clicking Add device.)

Could you double-check if this device has, besides the account assignment, a manager? Options ➜ General ➜ Manage this device.

I'm looking forward to your reply. 🙋‍♀️

    Thank you Carol,

it helped! There was no Account Assignment, and after I assigned account device appeared online in device list. However. when I try to connect to it, the password is asked (password from Allow Remote Control worked) - that does not look like unattended access. Can you please help me to solve this last step?

    You're welcome @horolskyi!

Are you logged in with the same account used for the account assignment?

The account assignment should be made for the main account, and the managers are the ones you want to share the Easy Access with. If you're using a managed account, you should be able to remotely connect with unattended access too.

On Devices ➜ All managed devices ➜ select the device you want to connect and click Easy access or double-click the device.

If the device was not migrated, follow the instructions on the screen to migrate it.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thank you Carol.

Migration is another issue for me. My current device displayed with "Migration required". When I am trying to do migration - whether it is Automatic or Manual selecting this device - 0 devices are migrated and this device still displayed with "Migration required". I am sorry for lot of questions, but it seems the application became much more complicated and less intuitive then it was. Thank you for your kind answers.

    My pleasure to help @horolskyi!
And I'm sorry to hear about all the issues you encountered with the new interface.

To migrate the devices they need to be turned on. If the device is offline, it will wait for the device to come back online in order to migrate.

Also, keep in mind that TeamViewer allows you to have up to 3 managed devices for personal use. If you have a license, the number of managed devices will vary according to your plan. How are you using TeamViewer?

Also, if your TeamViewer isn't updated to the newest version, please consider updating it.

If the problem persists, could you tell me the OS of the device that is having the issues to be migrated?

I appreciate all the information and details provided!

    Thank you Carol

The device is on, I am working on it.

I removed all the devices but 2, still not migrated.

    The version is the latest.

    The OS is Windows 10.

    Hi @horolskyi,
    Thanks for your reply!

I could not replicate the issue on my side…
Could you please double-check whether you have TeamViewer Backup on these devices?
The devices with backup will have a cloud icon next to them in the Management Console device list.

If yes, please note that the migration process is incompatible with devices with  Backup enabled.

I'm looking forward to your reply.
