Hello everbody,

I would like do deactivate the option "insider builds" on our fullclients via policy.

I have been through all policies with this option, but have not found any policy that disables the checkbox “insider builds” on the fullclient.

Does a policy with this option exist?

    Hello @Ben_BechtleAG,

    Thanks for reaching out!

The best practice here is to add the setting Changes require administrative rights on this computer to your TeamViewer policy, which prevents users from accessing the client's TeamViewer options.

With this setting enabled and enforced, your users won't be able to install insider builds anymore.

Let me know if this has worked for you!

  • Hi JeanK,
    Thank you for answer.

This Policy does not help me, because with this Policy i generally prohibit the user from setting anything in the fullclient.

So that is not a solution for us, because i would like the user to be able to set some of the settings themselves, for example displaying the mouse cursor on the partner screen.

So , what we need are policies for every setting on the fullclient, so that we can specify granularly which settings the user is allowed to set in the full client and which not.

    Best regards

    Hi @Ben_BechtleAG,

Thank you for providing insights on how you work with TeamViewer.

We currently do not have a specific policy preventing users from seeing the insider build.

I converted this thread into an idea so our Product Management team can see it and consider it for further development.

Let me know if you have any questions!

  • Hi JeanK,

Thanks for submitting it as an idea to product management.

To be honest, I don't quite understand why it's only an “idea” now.

We have a lot of requests for this ( obviously) from our customers.
I don't understand how you can have extra policies for certain settings in the full client and not for other settings (such as insider builds). That makes no sense to me. There must be policies for all settings.

Especially for the insider builds, otherwise users will be able to update to beta versions and thus use functionally limited full clients.

    Best regards
