I recently heard a security IT person say the Windows log in screen must use ctrl alt del as a group policy setting in order to follow standard security practices. They said requiring ctrl alt del for the log in screen defeats remote screen sharing software that scammers typically use (which I'm sure scammers use Teamviewer).
I use Teamviewer for my own needs. It's a corporate license. I've never seen any issues Teamviewer's ctrl alt del send feature. I rarely use that. My own machines don't have a group policy set to require ctrl alt del on the log in screen. But if that does have to happen in the future, it's a huge problem if I can't remote onto a user's machine and log in. The user isn't always present (and shouldn't need to be).
If Windows has a log in screen with ctrl alt del required there to sign in, can Teamviewer still send a ctrl alt del keyboard command and still work normally?
I'm one IT person with my own group of users I support. Some of those are remote. I frequently use Teamviewer to work on their machines completely offsite with the user being present. The security person is newer in my organization. They probably will have influence over group policies like ctrl alt del on the log in screen.
I should set up a test machine on my own and figure out what group policy that is. Then I can just test it. When I heard the idea, at first I thought that Teamviewer has that ctrl alt del button send command so it wouldn't be a problem. Now, I'm wondering.
