Managing remote devices just got a whole lot simpler.
If you regularly provide unattended remote support, you know how important it is to ensure all devices are properly assigned to your company in TeamViewer. We’re excited to introduce a new and super simple way to do just that: the custom Host assignment link.
No more complex steps. No more back-and-forth. Just one link, a few clicks—and you're all set.
Why use a custom link?
We’ve made it easy for you to assign remote devices to your company, especially when you add only a few devices at a time.
With this new method, you can:
- Assign any remote device in just a few clicks
- Avoid human error—no manual steps needed
- Simplify setup for your customers or colleagues
- Enable unattended access for seamless remote support
This is perfect for small-scale device assignments. (If you're rolling out TeamViewer across many devices at once, we still recommend using the .MSI deployment method.)
How it works
With just one custom link, your end user can download the pre-configured TeamViewer Host. Once it’s installed, all they need to do is click Allow and finish and their device will be automatically assigned to your company.
It's really that easy.
Step-by-step guide
Simply follow the steps below and create your first custom Host link.
- Generate your custom Host link:
- Sign in to https://web.teamviewer.com/ or to the TeamViewer Remote full client.
- Go to Devices.
- Click the + Add button and select Remote device.
- Click the tab To your account. This will generate the custom Host's assignment link.
- Click the drop-down menu and select the device group(s) to which the remote device should appear.
- Now, copy the custom Host assignment link for later use and click Done.
- Send the link to the end user you want to support.
- The end user opens the link and downloads the TeamViewer Host.
- They install it like any other app—no tech skills needed.
- At the end of the setup, they just click Allow and finish.
- Done! The device is now assigned to your company.
