Need help trouble shooting why teamviewer is asking for authentication partner's password?

The 'remote' device is the device you are connecting to; in your case, the PC. All the steps described in the articles should be performed on the PC. The term 'Host' in the articles refers to a specific type of TeamViewer application that could be installed on the PC.

Well, seems the fix didn't last very long, sadly, I'm back to having to authenticate or invite again, except now the ability to accept remote access is completely disabled! 👺

@JoshP I am not using personal passwords and instead use Easy Access. It does not work from Android anymore. It still works from my PCs between each other but not from Android. I tried everything I could think of and nothing is working. Everything has been working fine for years prior to this. Please consider escalating this to engineering.

Success! All I had to do was open the app on my PC and click on set up remote access on this device, and I'm back to normal, for now. Hope it stays that way for a while. Thanks for sticking with it for me!

I'm confused about which 'device' I am supposed to do what to. I'm trying to follow the instructions, but not sure where to start since I already have the app downloaded and installed on my PC and my tablet. Which one is the remote and which is the host? In order to understand how to follow the instructions, I need to write a manifesto on what I don't understand step by step. I need a simpler step by step that addresses the exact situation I have instead of sorting through all the unnecessary steps that are confusing what I need to do to get back to using this thing simply again. What do you need to know in order to give me the simplest instruction without the unnecessary things I don't need to do? Can I get a one time service call to help me sort this out? It would be worth it to me to pay a small fee to get someone from tech support to walk me through it instead of all the time it's taking me to go through this back and forth attempts to communicate via messaging and reading through technical manuals.

Provide unattended remote support

If you were previously using the Connect with Password option without entering a password, it means you had set up a Personal Password for Unattended Access at some point. The article linked to the left will walk you through how to set this back up if you no longer have the password. Once set back up, you will need to enter the new personal password once, and in future connections, you should be able to connect the same way as before.

That said, the article I provided in my original reply is still the recommended method for connecting without entering a password. Here it is again:

You're not wasting time. They broke something with this latest update on computers. Easy access from mobile devices got messed up. my computers can all do easy access to my other computers and to my mothers computer just fine. It's just mobile access that EA doesn't work any more. even with reinstalling the app

Update -

I had to go into the home page of TV on my PC's and click enable for remote access - even though they already were and I could access from other PC's. That fixed my app being able to.

Now that I have used this new requirement to use a password, I now have an orange frame and tab that sticks out in my video screen in addition to the regular tab the sticks out on the right side of the screen. I got used to the app tag, but now I have two tabs that do the same thing. What's up with that? Is there any way to just have one tab again?

I got the app working again, but it's one more layer of effort now. Previously, I wasn't opening the app and signing in on my desktop PC when I used the app on my tablet, and it was connecting just fine, now I have to open the app on my PC to find the password that the tablet app is asking for. It's one more layer of effort to get it working, but at least I can still use it. Wish I could figure out how to get back to the simpler way. Sorry for the waste of time, for both of us!

There is no random password displayed that I can see. Is there a customer support live person that can help me troubleshoot this? All this technical jargon is confusing me. I am just using the app to connect my Tablet to my PC and I don't understand why it doesn't work the way it has been working. I've been using a tablet to control my PC while my PC is duplicated on my big screen TV. Once I cast my PC monitor to the TV, then I just open the app, select my PC from the devices list, then click the remote control using password button, but it never asked for a password, it just connected. Maybe I have a password that it automatically uses. The instructions page link has lots of terms I don't understand. I just using this app as a TV remote when I'm watching videos on my PC. I'm not violating any terms of free use.
