New Phone - Lost two factor authentication - Recovery Code not working

I have a free version of Teamviewer and setup two-factor authentication back in June of 2016. I got a new phone and forgot to change this setup before it was wiped. I thought, no big deal because I have my recovery code printed out in my safe. I just tried it numerous times and I keep getting an error that it is not valid (which I know 100% it is). Can you assist with deleting my account so that I can create a new one? I am concerned my account is compromised.
