Format of Password
I had so much trouble figuring out how you post a question on the Teamviewer Community. I have been using non-commercial Teamviewer for personal use with success for about a year to connect to a computer from NY to NC. Up to version 12, our passwords have always have always consisted of 4 numbers. After downloading and installing, Teamviewer 12, we were assigned passwords consisting of BOTH numbers and small letters. Did we download our Teamviewer 12 version from a hijacked site? I am very concerned about Internet security and the potential of hackers stealing personal information, and I thought it odd to receive passwords in a different format. Are we still secure?

Your TeamViewer is still secure. In fact, more so now that your password is more difficult. The random passwords have many settings to make the password strength adjustable. These can be found under Extras > Options > Security under "Random password strength".
If you install TeamViewer with unattended access enabled, the minimum the software allows is "Secure 6 characters" which is what you are seeing now. The 4 digit password is only available if TeamViewer is not set up for unattended access.

Yes, thank you Scotty for the clarifying information regarding the numeric digit/letter password format which apply to the more secure password. I always use Teamviewer on a one-on-one situation where I remotely connect to my partner's PC and this always has involved a simple 4-digit password. We have never used our computers in a remotely "easkky access" mode so I was unfamiliar with anything other than the 4-digit password. You have cleared up this issue for me and I can now continue to use Teamviewer with peace of mind. Thank you again for your reply and your information. I tried unsuccessfully to reply to an early email but it was rejected because it was a no reply address. Please take whatever steps are necessary to mark Scotty's response as the ANSWER to my question because I don't know how to do that.
