New user and connecting with freelancer to view work

Hi Community

Not used TeamViewer before and I've been asked to connect with a freelancer to view work that has been undertaken. Little concerned about the remote access elements and not completely sure how using TeamViewer works. Just want to be able to view the completed work remotely. Is that safe/ easy/ advised etc etc.
