Yes, Motorola E5_Play with Android 8.0 can be fully remote controled.
See more details below.In the last 2 days (Dec/10 and Dec/11/18, I tested the following two phones:
1) Motorola G6_Play, Android 8.0 (Oreo) at AT&T phone retailer
2) Motorola E5_Play, Android 8.0 (Oreo) at Metro PCS retailer (T-Mobile)Both phones downloaded the TeamViewer QuickSupport apps, and I used my own phone (Motorola G2), which had TeamViewer Remote Control apps, to fully remote control both phones mentioned above.
Since E5_Play is the cheapest Motorola model and it can be fully remote controlled, all Motorola phones which have Android 8.0 (or higher) can be fully remote controlled.
