Personal Use Target Computer Question

I am a new user wishing to access my home iMac via my Mac laptop while traveling. I installed Teamviewer (TV) on both machines and successfully accessed the home machine from the laptop. So everything works. My question is, when I open TV on the laptop, I get a control type window. When I open TV on the iMac, there is no window of any sort. Is that normal behavior?

I tried looking in the Finder Dock. The window was hidden there. Weird. I quit and restarted TV and it did the same thing. Is there some preference I need to change?

There is nothing to show. When I open the app, nothing happens as I stay in the Finder. I can move to the TV app icon, then all I see is the main menu header, attached. Screen Shot 2019-05-06 at 6.44.00 PM.png
