how to connect to an older version of teamviewer

I am using TeamViewer to remotely control my father's computer. He is 102 and cannot use the computer, I have to do the updates but how can I do them when I can no longer connect to his computer. Is there any way to still be able to connect to his computer to download the new version. He is unable to operate the computer to do it himself
