Unable to connect to Surface Pro

Hi,

We have a user who is trying to get a third party IT support to log in to their laptop to troubleshoot some software, they have noted that when trying to connect via Team Viewer the green icon at the bottom says Ready to Connect, then flashes yellow saying 'Connecting to Partner...' for a brief second and goes back to green without prompting for a password.

I have installed teamviewer on another PC and tried to connect to it with the same result, it appears to be OK on other devices.

I have tried allowing the TeamViewer ports through our Anti-Virus software and I have completely uninstalled, ran CCleaner, rebooted, and re-installed TeamViewer to no avail.

Is anyone getting a similar issue or managed to resolve?

Thanks,

Brad

    Hello @bradsmith93,

    Thank you for your message.

On the devices the problem occurs, I'd recommend you to make a full uninstall and reinstall of TeamViewer.

How to uninstall TeamViewer on PC

    Then, try to connect again.

I hope this could help. If not, do not hesitate to ask your questions here.

I have the exact same issue on the Surface 9 Pro. FULLY uninstalling does nothing to resolve the issue. Windows Defender is disabled, Bitdefender allows all outgoing and incoming connections for TeamViewer. It seems another ploy to get free users to pay, like branding free users of commercial use. I use it to connect to computers that control medical equipment, and all of this is becoming annoying and dangerous for the patient I care for.

Canned responses like the one above are useless, especially when the post isn't read. The OP stated he uninstalled and reinstalled/reinstalled fully, yet you chose to ignore that in favour of a lazy, canned, response.

Please find a solution for the connection issue on Surface devices. Everything else connects, so it's a TeamViewer issue.
