Android - My mobile device no longer connects to my pc's/contact list.

I used to be able to connect to my home pc with this device.
Ideas?
It is now half way working...if I turn on the wifi it will connect to my home computers! Not sure whyit now needs wifi enabled to work, but this really limiting the functionality of this program.
