"Unable to connect, please check your connection" - A solution!

For those suffering the dreaded "Unable to connect, please check your connection" I stumbled upon this Reddit thread, which suggests that newer Dell's have a networking software (which you don't need) called Smartbytes.
Uninstall it, and BOOM, you can connect again.
Would be handy if this was detected by Teamviewer and it stopped blaming Trend Micro all the time :-)
