Can't remotely control an HP Chromebook

Trying to remotely control my mum's HP Chromebook from a Windows machine using TeamViewer 14. The destination device displays a message saying that only screen sharing is supported (i.e. full remote control is not available). So I can see her screen (and her cursor movements), but cannot interact with it.

Anyone know why this is? And whether I can get around it?! Is it a limitation of the (admittedly rather limited) Chromebook's hardware?

Thanks!
