No Gui at Teamviewer 14 on Debian 10

Hello ,

after upgrading to DEBIAN 10 Teamviewer 14 is not working anymore.
I have removed adn reinstalled again but

I can confirm that is works with Gnome - but with LXDE.

Update: I ended up going with gnome (the latest on Debian 10) and according to https://levlaz.org/how-to-disable-wayland-in-debian-testing/ the custom.conf has been changed to a different file to turn off wayland. Seems extremely stable with no sleep and no teamviewer issues in the last 48 hours!

This is extremely interesting. For some reason I had an optiplex 9020M and an optiplex 3020 SFF and the 3020 had no issues with debian 10, xfce and teamviewer and no power issues. Then I try the 9020M and I either have power issues (computer keeps sleeping on it's own) or I can't get into desktop (gnome, kde, xfce have an assortment of issues). Trying latest teamviewer and debian 10 with xfce and everything was fine except teamviewer (or maybe the session) would hang mid use, would this be related to your comment? Do you have any recommendations for me?

For libpng12 there are two options: Either dpkg -i install the package from debian jessie or unpack them to /opt/teamviewer/tv_bin/RTlib/qt/lib/ and run

cd /opt/teamviewer/tv_bin
patchelf --remove-rpath TeamViewer
patchelf --force-rpath --set-rpath '$ORIGIN/RTlib/qt/lib/' TeamViewer

Hi Nils and @TeamViewer

I have made also some further investigations. It depends in addition also on the "Desktop Enviroment"

It works with "Gnome" and "Gnome Classic"
It does not work with "LXDE" (which is my favourite one) , "XFCE" and "MATE"

I', using lightdm as display manager

I hope this helps to get a solution.

I have the same problem.

I dug into it a bit and it looks like teamviewer is shipping with Qt 5.6 libraries. Debian 10 ships with Qt 5.11. Since teamviewer doesn't package all required Qt dependencies, some are pulled from the system, which results in some undefined symbol mess that prevents the GUI executable from starting.

In case some engineer @TeamViewer is reading this: It should be easy enough to fix: Please find the missing dependent libraries and put them into the debian package.

docker and ldd are your friend.
