Able to Transfer Files but Not Remote - Ubuntu 16.04

Hi, I recently installed TeamViewer on a Ubuntu 16.04 machine. I tested TeamViewer remote at that time and was able to get it working. Fast forward to a week later, and now I can only get file transfer working, not remote. I do not physical access to the machine for at least a couple weeks. Any ideas on how I can get it working again? I am using the same computer to remote in that I did before, but I am on a different network/ISP. I feel that since file transfer works I should at least be able to get something like SSH working (though I did not setup headless mode or VPN mode previously).
