Can not get past helper installer

I am trying to help a friend on his Macbook Pro remotely and had him download the latest version of Teamviewer.  But when he launches the Teamview App after installing, he gets a pop up box saying that "Teamviewer is trying to install a helper tool."  Enter your password to allow this.

He then puts his Mac's user name and password into the Teamview dialog box, clicks install, and the box goes away.  The upon launching the Teamview app again, gets the exact same dialog box.  

We used to use Teamview sometime last year, but now it will not launch. 

I need to be able to control his computer and/or watch what he is doing so I can guide him through various actions.   Teamview on my Macbook Pro works great!

    Unfortunately, we could not reproduce this error.

    I recommend you to:

    1. Restart the Mac
    2. Try again with the following .dmg: TeamViewer for Mac

    I have left numerous comments and nothing! I am not asking for much, just an answer! I want to work from home, but have to come into the office because of this crazy problem! Can anyone please help me???

    removed and reinstalled several times

    also tried chrome, safari and firefox

    all the same

    keeps asking to install helper

    then after the password entered, it disappears, and no connection seen.

    repeats each time i try to connect.

    any ideas? as this is urgent
