Screen sharing not possible - but can connect when friend connects first (Ubuntu)

Hi guys,

Title says it all: when I try to connect to a client's device running Ubuntu I'm getting the error "On your partner's side screen sharing is currently not possible, therefore the connection was canceled" on every device that I linked to my account.

Yet when my friend connects to the device first, I can join in without any problem afterwards.

When he disconnects I can keep working, but after I disconnect as well I can't reconnect until he connects first.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

    Hi mate:

I also encounter this identical error.

After updating to the latest version, 'on your partner's side screen sharing is currently not possible, therefore the connection was canceled.' will be displayed when I want to connect the remotr device.

    Have you solved this problem?

    Any suggestion will be appreciated

    Best Regards

    Hey John,

Haven't solved it yet, logged a ticket to Teamviewer but no response yet.

Got someone more specialised in IT infrastructure looking into it tommorow, so if that leads to something I'll update this post :)

    Kind regards,

I'm having the same issue. I've tried the usual things (reboot, upgrade, confirm devices were in the trusted lists, switch the interface from the computer I'm connecting from, etc.) but have not had any luck either.

Experiencing the same connectivity issues. Also, seeing "Connection not established authentication canceled." This is only happing on Ubuntu machines. Windows machines are fine.

Teamviewer has gone downhill. I am having the same issue. Has anyone found a fix? Seems pointless to use this software anymore.
