TeamViewer 13 on Linux Mint Black screen when application in focus

I use Linux Mint 18.3. Whenever I open the TeamViewer 13 application, my screen turns black and I can only see the mouse. This is NOT when I try to connect to a remote host, but when I open the application and it has focus. If I change focus to something else, my screen comes back. Any ideas? I used Mint 18.2 and it had the same problem. I never had the problem using TeamViewer 12.
