Black screen on remote connection

Can anyone offer some advise?  So i've set everything up both ends and I keep getting a black screen when I connect to the remote computer.  There is no RDP (Windows Remote Desktop) and I have the latest version of Teamviewer and the monitor driver installed

Everytime I connect without the PC screen active or connected I get a black screen on the remote connection either on the mobile app or on a desktop.

I need to be able to connect to the host PC without an active monitor on the PC being active or on. 

How do I get the PC to default to Teamviewer's monitor so I can access it remotely?
