Channel Usage - LAN vs Internet

When using LAN IP to connect, does TV actually utilize a TeamViewer channel? From the  Help>About>Channel Use section, when I am directly connecting from peer to peer, I do not see my ID appear in the Channel Use table.

In otherwords, the only way to utilize a TV channel, is done over the Internet while using one of TeamViewer servers to route the connection to any endpoint?
