Connect a Windows 10 (Home) PC with a Mac OS 10.9.5 (Maverick)

I'm trying to connect a Windows 10 (Home) PC with a Mac OS 10.9.5 (Maverick).  According to the following link, I am supposed to be using, "OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) TeamViewer 9-12."

On the Mac, I installed Teamviewer version 9.0.43731 from the following link:

On the PC, I downloaded 9.0.41110, but when I install it, it says the version is 9.0.9xx from the same page listed above.

When I attempt to connect the PC to the Mac, I receive a message stating, "The remote TeamViewer is running an old version which is out of date. Therefore you cannot connect to this Version anymore."

So, on the PC, I installed 8.0.44109 from the following link, thinking that with the PC now having a version older than the Mac, it will give me a different message.

I tried to connect to the Mac, still running version 9, but received the same error messsage.

On the Mac, I then installed TeamViewer version 8.0.2.0942, using the above link.  I still get the error message that the Mac is running an older version and cannot connect.

Note:  I cannot update the OS on the Mac any higher than 10.9.5 due to software I have running on it that I need, which will not run on a newer OS.

Can somone please help me connect these two systems?  BTW they are both running the FREE personal license of TeamViewer.

I have a mac os x 10.9.5 with Teamviewer version 12.0.2, it seems it's the last update available for this mac. On the Windows 10 PC I had the last Teamviewer version. I couldn't connect to the pc from the mac, and a thread here said I need to have the same version or older on the pc to be able to connect from the mac. So I downloaded version 12.0.2 to the PC. Still can't connect because now it says I'm using an old version on the pc. Can someone please advice?

I've got exactly the same issue, it says I have the updated version on my mac but when I go to connect it says it's not. Any help would be greatly appreciated

@KROE86I know this is a few months old, but Team Viewer's free tier only supports the current version (15), not legacy versions (here). I am trying to solve the EXACT SAME PROBLEM:

  • **Third Party Product** with some added security seems like a more involved solution.
  • **Third Party Product**is also a possiblity, but it's browser based and might not have the features you're looking for.
  • **Third Party Product** is for mac10.10 and newer
  • The built in Preferences>Sharing>Screen Sharing in Mac OS 10.9.5 might do the trick, but again it's more involved (open port 5900 and point it to a reserved IP for your machine) and requires a VNC client of some sort. I got this to work but it doesn't carry sound, which is necessary for my purposes.
