Server fans surging up in speed

I installed Monitoring on a Windows 2008 server yesterday and the client reports that the cooling fans are speeding up every 10 mins or so since the install yesterday morning.

Has anyone any ideas or experienced this issue.

    Hi @GNightingale

    Thanks for the post.

I am not sure exactly what is happening. What seems to be the problem?

The Computer fans are spinning more often, meaning to cool down the processor?

As far as We know our solution should not impact the system at all, a server is more powerful anyway as a normal workstation.

I would recommend checking which process or service is consuming CPU when the fans are running. Maybe it will give you a hint. If you really think that the Monitoring service is impacting performance you can remove it temporarily and then see if the behaviour persists.

Let me know what have you found.

  • I have already removed the Teamviewer monitoring and the cooling fans have stopped surging. I may reinstall it during a quiet time and see if I can pinpoint the issue. I think you are right about lack of resources.

    Thankyou  Graeme
