Disable 'Personal Password' option on TV host? (Tensor account)

Hello all - We are a new Tensor corporate customer and deploying our clients.  We do NOT want unattended access to our systems.  When the customized host file is installed, we do not add the 'grant easy access' option to the command line installer.  Our polices are set to ask end user to allow the connection and/or control after.  While I was on the local PC, I see an option here where it looks like a regular company user could set a password for them to remotley connect to their own PC on the network by setting their own password.  Would that be possible?  If so, is there a way we can disable this option?

    Hello @net1994,

Thank you for your message and welcome to the TeamViewer Community! ?

What you could do, is to assign the policy parameter Changes require administrative rights on this computer,  Enforce it and assign it to all the relevant devices. Therefore, the TeamViewer options won't be accessible for your users and therefore won't be able to manage the Personal Password functionality.

Would this work out for you?

    Stay safe and sane! 🍀

  • Hello and thanks for the reply.  One issue with this is for those with local admin rights on their PC (and there are many), they would still be able to open up the settings and make changes.  Is there another policy setting or even command line option during installation to prevent this?  Or no, only TVOPT file can completley lock this down?

    Hello @net1994,

    1. Correct - applying this policy won't help if the users have admin rights on their devices.

    2. Correct as well 👍
Importing/deploying settings via the .tvopt file will completely lock access down, even for users having admin rights We explain how to proceed in this Knowledge Base article right here: How to access and export the *.tvopt file for your deployment

    Best regards
