Teamviewer channel use

Hello,

We have a TeamViewer license of 4 channels. We mainly use TeamViewer to connect to the PCs of our customers. We maintain a list of computers in our TeamViewer so that we can easily connect to the customer PCs. Recently it is found that our 4 channels were always used. We changed the password and the issue is still happening.

Today after issue happened again, I checked the two TeamViewer IDs that appeared in the "Channel Use" dialog box and found those two IDs belong to our customer PCs and are in our TeamViewer computer list. The reason they used our channels is because our customers were connecting to those two PCs using their own TeamViewer at that time. To test the issue, I installed a new TeamViewer on another PC. Without logging into our company account, once I connected to one of our customer PC using this newly installed TeamViewer, the customer PC TeamViewer ID will appear on the "Channel Use" dialog box, i.e., using one of our 4 channels.

We are surprised to see this issue. Can you please confirm how this works and how we can get around this problem.

Thanks

Chris

    Hello @ChrisRng,

Thank you for your message and welcome to the TeamViewer Community! ?

A channel is used if a user that has your TeamViewer license activated on his account, establishes a connection to a PC.

If you see the TeamViewer ID of one of your customers in the current license user window,

this means that this customer is logged in with a TeamViewer account that has your TeamViewer license activated on, which is not safe at all and has to be corrected immediately. In this case, please contact our customer support

    Best regards
