So, I have the free version installed and, on my 97 year old father's computer, when I visited him, pre-covid, I installed the simpler portion, where he can share his computer with me, but not vice versa, for obvious reasons. He gets easily confused and, lately, he says, before he can give me the password, there is a pop up in the way that is asking him to purchase TeamViewer and he can't figure out how to get it out of the way so he can give me the password. I lucked out, this last time, in that I noticed that the old password still worked, so I was able to get in. Next time, I might not be so lucky and then it is a real catch 22. Since I can't see what he is seeing before he invites me in and, at his age, and also being barely computer literate, he can't describe it well enough for me to tell him how to decline the purchase offer. He did not previously have this problem, so I wonder if TeamViewer has just gotten more aggressive about marketing the non-free versions. In any event, can someone post a photo of what he might be seeing and/or tell me what he needs to do to make that popup go away, please? Quite some time ago, I think I was able to make the password constant but whatever it is now is not what I chose at the time. Thanks!

@Dean3 The Grant easy access would allow you to do what you like, he would have to grant your email account access to his computer, with his account logged in. Then on your computer, with your account, you would add the remote computer to your list of computers.

Just make sure that his account on his machine shows start with windows, so that it's always on.

You can also set up unattended access on your father's computer. It's still under the free version, but will not require him to give you any information when you want to connect.

It doesn't seem like you read my question very carefully, since I indicated it was blocking him from being able to generate the password to invite me in. The popup you cite is when the session is over, not when trying to begin. There can't be that many of them that TeamViewer folks use that are seeking to up-sell the user from the free edition to a paid one. And I understand it makes sense to ask, as long as you don't make it too confusing as to how to decline it, particularly for older people who are likely to use the free version and be easily confused. Can you please check which popups fit the description I just gave and reply again with those screenshots, including how to close them out? The one you have is quite clear but the one my dad saw apparently wasn't. I believe I have seen it myself once on my computer and recall it took a while to figure out how to close it.

Thanks much. My dad might not like the fact that, if i wanted to abuse it, I could just invite myself in, but let's assume he will trust me. Are you talking about the grant easy access feature?. If so, can you clarify how I set that up, please? I see instructions but they are not perfectly clear as to whose account information to enter. It reads as if there is only one account which MAY be the case if one is trying to control's one's own other computers in another location. I don't think that is the case here. I think my dad and I each have our own accounts, but his is set up more simply so it only allows others to control his. I set this up probably a decade ago and don't recall. Assuming that is correct, can you give me detailed instructions as to what to enter and where, please, I don't want to mess it up since if I do, there is no one in my dad's house that is computer savvy enough to fix it.
