during a crash i can't stop and save the file
but i find in Temp directory the file .tmp.tvs
How play this file?
Can I repair it?
Hello @wered,
If a crash occurred, it won't be possible to repair the file, unfortunately.
Hi there,
i just had a similar problem. My computer (PC), Windows 10 Pro, didn't crash though, but my Teamviewer (V 15.21.6 - 32 Bit) Client obviously couldn't successfully save the problematic tvs-file. The tvs-file, with a recording length of 1h45Min, contains data (258 MB), but when I saved the recording, the Teamviewer Client couldn't obviously successfully write the end sequence. I have no idea why. No error message!
I compared my "corrupt" tvs-file with a functioning one and found, that normally, Teamviewer adds an "end" tag and after the end tag some char-sequence, maybe a checksum, to the end of a tvs-file. See figures below.
The point is, that the "corrupt" file contains valid data, which is probably okay!
Isn't there a support-tool (repair tool), that can parse an "incomplete" tvs-file, adds the missing end-element, calculates the checksum and saves the file?
I mean, Teamviewer programmed this feature. There should be someone within the Teamviewer dev-team, who knows, how this could be done.
Would be nice to get some useful news!
With kind regards.

Figure3: Good case example. "End" tag and checksum (?) is there
