Can't shut dowm remote iMac (Late 2015 model running High Sierra)

I cannot shut down a friend's iMac after solving issues or making updates or changes for her. It requires that I first have to "force quit" TeamiVewer before it will shut down. Of course that breaks the remote connection with the iMac so it is impossible for me to shut it down. I don't recall the version number of TeamView on it, but I did just update it.

I NEVER have any problems dealing with remote PCs running Windows 10. What's wrong??

Thanks for your post.

I was unable to replicate this when connected to my own Mac Mini.

When I select Shut Down from the Apple menu, after the standard OS request of confirmation comes the below pop-up, on the Mac:

Either party is able to click OK, and once clicked the session is ended and the Mac finishes its shutdown process.

Should the issue persist, please have your friend check their security permissions for TeamViewer in the Mac preferences. It is possible that one of these settings may be preventing TeamViewer from disconnecting:
