Hello,

the Unattended Access option:

Start TeamViewer with System after the check and logging in gets unchecked again.

    Hi @davgocman

Thank you very much for your post and a warm welcome to the TeamViewer Community 😊

Unfortunately, I do not have a Mac with that OS to test it, I'm deeply sorry!

But I know that @Esther might help out here 😉 Would you mind to check if it's the same case for your device Esther?

Thanks for helping out here and I wish you @davgocman a great day.

    All the best,

    Hi Natascha and @davgocman,

For sure I can test that 👍

I set my TeamViewer to Start with System and did the following tests:

1.) Close TeamViewer and restart it

2.) Make a connection and close the connection

3.) Log out of the CC list and log in again

    4.) Restart the Mac

In all four cases, the Start with System checkbox on the Remote Control tab remained checked.

In what cases does it disappear for you exactly? Maybe I just misunderstood.

    Thanks, Esther

    Hi Esther,

I also have this problem. It's been present for many many months and TeamViewer versions.

Here are some screen captures to show you how to replicate it:

    1. Before restarting: [Personal information removed]
    2. Afer restarting: [Personal information removed]

I'm running MacOS 10.14.6 and the latest version of TeamViewer available for this: Version: 15.23.9 (9ac8440a437)

Please forward to the developers and advise further.

    Thank you,

    Andrew.

  • How can I send you my screen capture videos please?

@davgocman @bluemonkey8 Could you please send the output of these commands:

    cat /var/db/com.apple.xpc.launchd/disabled.plist

    and

    cat /var/db/com.apple.xpc.launchd/disabled.$(id -u).plist

    and

    cat /var/db/launchd.db/com.apple.launchd/overrides.plist

    Thanks :)

  • Hi MoreCoffee,

    Please see below.

Also to further clarify, my issue is the exact opposite of @davgocman

i.e. I can not get Teamviewer to not start with the system - after unchecking "start TeamViewer with system" and then restarting, the "start TeamViewer with system" checkbox returns to being checked (and TeamViewer starts up with system).

    Thank you!

@bluemonkey8 It seems that you have a couple of entries there pertaining to TeamViewer. These are sometimes created by 3rd party system management tools and override the regular launchd job configs for TeamViewer's components.

You can use these three commands to get rid of the entries:

    sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Delete :com.teamviewer.service" /var/db/com.apple.xpc.launchd/disabled.plist

    sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Delete :com.teamviewer.desktop" /var/db/com.apple.xpc.launchd/disabled.$(id -u).plist

    sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Delete :com.teamviewer.teamviewer" /var/db/com.apple.xpc.launchd/disabled.$(id -u).plist

After running these commands, restart your Mac. The Start with System checkbox should then again work as expected.

  • OK thanks MoreCoffee. Unfortunately this has not solved the issue for me.

I have run those 3 commands multiple times including before and after uninstalling an re-installing TeamViewer.

Despite these efforts, it is still frustratingly starting up with the system and re-ticking the preference box all by itself after the restart.

    Anything else to try?

    Thank you!

@bluemonkey8 Did you uninstall TeamViewer including settings, or did you let it keep the settings when you uninstalled? In case you kept the settings, you might need one "round-trip" of the Start with system checkbox to sort everything out again (i.e. off / on / off, each time waiting for TeamViewer to quit & re-open).

In case that doesn't help, let's check if the original issue is still there or if we're dealing with something else now:

    1. Run the PlistBuddy commands.
    2. Run the cat commands from earlier and save the output.
    3. Restart your Mac.
    4. Re-run the cat commands and save the output.

Please send the output from steps 2 + 4.

  • @MoreCoffee Thanks for your ongoing assistance with this.

Yes I completely uninstalled ALL aspects of the TV install. I tried it several times but with no luck to fix the issue.

So I've now upgraded to MacOS 12.1 Monterey (complete fresh install) and reinstalled TV and now this option appears to be behaving itself.

So problem solved for me, however I do believe there may be an issue on MacOS 10.14.6 Mojave...
