Stuck in "TeamViewer is starting please wait"

After an automatic update, TeamViewer does not allow me to connect to remote machines. This has been working fine until today. Now it is stuck in "TeamViewer is starting please wait". Restarting the application and restarting my computer do not fix it. How can I fix it?

We had a small hick-up today where TeamViewer was not able to get a connection to the internet.

May I kindly ask you to try it again now? All should be resolved and you should be able to start TeamViewer again and connect to your partners.
