Connection to QNAP App doesn't work

Hi everybody,

I have a new QNAP NAS where I installed the TeamViewer App from the QNAP App Store. After started the app I got an instruction how to setup a host connection with the ID and Passwort of the Teamviewer on my QNAP NAS. I have added the device to my Teamviewer on my MacBook. But if I want to connect know, Teamviewer starts to connect, than it shows me that authentication takes place but then it fails. The teamviewer app on my macbook is just updated. What's the problem? How can I fix this?

Best Regards

Dom

I have the exact same problem but in Windows PC. Have you got success in fixing it?

I had the same problem, "authentication Failed" in Windows.... Trying to remote into QNAP using TeamViewer.

The fix for me was to close the TeamViewer app in Windows and restart it using Admin rights by right clicking on app and selecting "Run As Admin".

  • Old post but might come in handy to someone google searching like i just did before finding the solution.

After adding the NAS to your account, select it and click on the gear on the right. The options will show up and click Assign to your account.

    No more authentication failed errors.

  • Thanks Chris. This solution has worked for me as well
