Connecting 2 computers. Once can control screen, other can't.

I am connecting computers with my family member. When we connect they can control my screen and I can see theirs but not control it. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere? We've tried changing who connects but it doesn't seem to matter. Whether I initiate the connection or they do I can never control their screen, only see it.

(I'm just a fellow user so the following is not expert based...)

My understanding is the control is only one way, so the machine initiating the connection (Let's call that unit "A") can see the remote machine (let's call that Unit "B") and control it, and the remote user ("B") can control their own machine ("B") , but cannot see or control "A" (You can connect in the opposite direction in a new session but it would still be a one way connection)...

You will only control their session if you initiate the connection.

I take it you have turned any "Remote connection" settings on that would normally 'Allow control' from within TViewer.

A curiosity question: (related to an issue I have)... If you initiate the session, and hover over something that is activated by a mouse hover (like thumbnails from the taskbar or shadow effects on buttons as you pass over them... do the buttons/thumbnails behave as if you have control, but just do nothing when you click.

I have an issue with one PC where if I click on anything on the sidebar of that TV session either locally or from the calling PC, the calling machine can no longer use mouse clicks (but the mouse still activates hover effects like auto shadow of items you pass over.).

I can get away with minimizing the TV sidebar but not selecting items within (like turning on the microphone to hear the remote person.)

I can call from the problem PC back the other way and mouse clicks are fine even touching the sidebar options. Other machines calling the problem unit have the same issue as soon as they touch the side bar options...

I ask this as you may be turning on the microphone before testing so always kill your mouse.... try a connection from your PC and immediately test the mouse without touching the sidebar. (again I assume you have turned on any settings regarding controlling the other unit on both machines... (I also turn on the 'Show other machines mouse movement' option so I can see if the other user touches the mouse... they have a similar option... one is on the top taskbar (of the calling unit I think) and there is also some options in the Main screen you can get to (best if you minimize the remote screen so as not to get confused as to which machine you are looking at the setting for...
