Remote Control Hangs on the Connecting Machine

I have remote access enabled on a certain machine, and when other computers try to remote access into the device, they get stuck on a connecting screen. The computer being connected to acts like the other computer made a successful connection, but that is not the case.

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall several times. Any help? Both machines are up to date and running windows defender.

It appears that a computer behind the same network can connect without issue, but outside the network i have problems. Maybe it has to do with problem computer being connected to second router cascaded from the first?
