Thank you for your post, and welcome to the TeamViewer community!

As mentioned in the post you linked, the deprecation of older TeamViewer versions only affected versions up to TeamViewer 10.

TeamViewer 11 is still an active version of TeamViewer. You can find all downloads for version 11 (as well as 12 - 14) here.
