TeamViewer screen goes black on both as soon as I answer a phone call on the remote Android device.

I installed TeamViewer on my Windows 10 device, a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, and a remote Samsung Galaxy S8+ (both on Verizon) devices. I am able to connect remotely to the Samsung Galaxy S8+ from both the Windows 10 and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. However, as soon as I pick up a call to the Galaxy S8+ phone, both screens go black. The screens reappear after I terminate the call on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. How do I resolve this issue?
My purpose in using TeamViewer is to help my Mama learn how to use the Galaxy S8+. She has never used a computer before and she is in an assisted living center many states away from me.
By the way, this same behavior is exhibited by AirDroid, which I tried before I tried TeamViewer. In fact, I used AirDroid to install TeamViewer on the Galaxy S8+ and get the app added to the auto start on boot list on that device.
