Have you tried to reinstall the Host on your device? Like fully uninstall and install?
This version still gets stuck at the assign device stage. I have no way to start a support ticket or have the log examined as I have a personal use license. It used to work flawlessly.

The play store and the Teamviewer download link still link to the previous version as of today.
I Hope this fixes the Device Assignment Problem that has made this unusable.
