Screen activity on remote PC

Hopefully an easy question, with an RDS session the remote PC goes to the lock screen when you sign in. Assuming the PC is at lock screen when logging in with TeamViewer, does it remain in this state or does it 'open' the remote screen.

When connecting to a computer via TeamViewer, it is as if you are sitting in front of the device.

This means that if you connect to the device's lock screen and enter the correct password, you would be able to access the desktop as normal.
