I set up Teamviewer on my elderly uncle's iMac, and I've been offering him support remotely for a while. Then, a couple of weeks back, I tried to change it so he didn't have to approve logins (he gets confused) and thought I'd whitelisted my account on his computer. Instead, however, I seem to have added myself to the block list.
So I was up his way a couple of weeks ago and logged my account onto his computer, thinking it would resolve the problem. It didn't. I'm still blocked whenever I try to connect.
I talked him through examining the block list (on my account), but my account is not there. Not sure how it's identifying me as a blocked account when it's my own account. Tried using a local VPN, but it won't connect.
Today, I tried to get him to log back into his old account, but now he's forgotten the password. He can't reset the password because he's forgotten his email password, too; that's why he wanted me to log on to his computer (to try to reestablish control of his emails and other accounts).
I fully understand that this level of security is needed to stop nefarious third parties from ripping off vulnerable people like my uncle Brian, but how can I solve this?
